garden? Dig out Junior’s rusty old Radio Flyer and turn it into a mobile planter that can go roll where ever it needs to, from sun to shade and right to your kitchen door. Drill a few holes in the bottom for water to escape. Put a small layer of gravel then your garden soil. Select your herb started plants from the local nursery and plant away!
Build a potting bench for your little ones to plant their flowers. This can also double as a work table for kids outdoor crafts.. Construct a simple, three-tier potting bench and have your kids keep their favorite hand tools right at their fingertips.

If your big into gardening consider building a conpost bin. Nothing feeds your plants better than compost from your very own backyard, and its price (free!) is impossible to beat. Though you can buy a compost bin made from budget-friendly plastic or even chicken wire, assembling a cedar bin is easy. It will conceal those yard clippings and kitchen leftovers without sticking out like a sore thumb on your landscape.

Getting the family outdoors for a picnic and an activity will create family memories and encourage conversation. Lets put down the phones. Eat and play outside!
Get the kids to tap into their creativity by designing their own Cornhole board. Its fairly simple to build and doesn’t require a lot of material. Let the kids draw and paint their boards. I’m not crafty but you might even be able to paint it with chalk paint so they can change up their design whenever they want.

One of my personal favorites is building your own tent. Growing up we built tents in the living room using all the furniture and sheets. This is a bit more detailed but you get to keep the canvas cloth your kids paint for a keepsake.
